I've been watching Unsolved Mysteries on Netflix...oh, my.

the family who is convinced their black (I don't know, is black the right word? African American? Negro? can't keep current....) son/brother/nephew was the victim of a hate crime after he got left at a party of white people in the sticks....

the nobility dad who murdered his wife and 4 children and hid their bodies and ran to save them from the knowledge that he was broke...

the young husband who ran off into the night in flip flops after a mysterious phone call and was later found in a hotel where he apparently fell through a roof...

a UFO sighting/abduction...

the young charismatic salon owner with a son who married a much older guy and disappeared....

the party in the middle of nowhere really hit home...how many times did Katie & Friends pile into a car to go to the friend of a friend of a friends party somewhere? and when you live in the sticks, you drive hours and hours to party....

an Ozarks mom with 6 daughters and a succession of boyfriends and husbands...she killed one, got one of the daughters to keep the others out of the way while she carted him off. then had the daughter help her dispose of the remains after she burnt him. daughter later confessed to his brother (one of her step-fathers). this girl had a son. when a civil suit was filed, the Lena disappeared....her mother took custody of her baby. no one knows where Lena is. they're all sure she's dead. makes my mothering skills look much more impressive....
