it has to be done and we agree it should be done right. Dave & Melissa & Peanut came over and made supper while I was at work. a coworker has turned in her 2 weeks, so I'll get more shifts. and I was sadly reminded that when you spend your life in the same rural area and chose for whatever reasons to end your life, you will be discussed loudly in line at the local gas station. at least until the next interesting suicide or affair comes along. people are asshats. we just are.

Kevin did a follow up with his surgeon, grocery shopping, helped Dave & Mel clean out the little house in the blazing fiery heat, saw spots. she went to ER to get xrayed from a fall last night that she braved through today being a good lil' soldier. made Hotel Julien reservation. sold The Tracker.

well. I just saw a victorian bone baby on Facebook. will have to figure out how to make one. she had conjoined twins!

last evening hung out with Melissa and Dave and Dayna and Daniel to celebrate Dayna's birthday.

today was doing a patch up job on the 'frame' I made yesterday.... an old glass and wood tray I found in the basement when we redid it. it was the centerpiece on my kitchen and dining room table for a while, and now it's a frame for a poster. but it's really old and the wood is dry and loose and I really want to make it work. if it falls off the wall again it'll probably be done. but while doing this, my eyes drifted and I found. some. tape. to. finish. wrapping. girls. birthday. gifts. good things come to those who set items down in strange places and forget about them, I guess....

when I'm out in yard and glance at basement window my heart always jumps. looks like a scarecrow head looking out at me. it's a paper sack of screws. I really should move it....

McPike Mansion: we got to go in basement, entry way, and parlor. and out back to the graveyard. we met the owner and her helper. (they were both interviewed by Zak on Ghost Adventures, so they are famous.) the house has been condemned and the owner has went to jail. they didn't like the way they were treated on the GA episode, said their interviews were scrambled to fit an agenda. Tracy got a woman in the window pic. it's what she does. we did lights out in the basement, learned history, communicated with flashlight and dowsing rods.

Haunted America Conference: par the course, no one likes Zak. there was fabulous break entertainment. raffle ticket buying mania. Troy Taylor assured us we could sleep NEXT weekend, not to miss a minute. we went to all but one of the presentations. we did Experiment with Richard Estep...I. heard. stuff. nothing that went with the history of my item, but I. heard. actual. words. through. spirit. box. and I swear I felt a charge of energy from the brick. what if you die and become a Fairy or a Mothman? are there really rules? met Jason Haxton who told us to kill all butterflies. Tobias Wayland told us that an overall feeling of weariness like a cloak falling over you could be sign of alien visitation. The Sausage Makers Wife has me pretty sure I won't be eating any form of sausage anytime soon. and the thing about Puckwudgies. you just fucking move. leave them be. don't. share. them. on. facebook. makes them multiply. whelp, Paranormal Sarah (who went to Penn State and hung out with Ryan and Elfie and Sergie and Katrina and the gang) what about showing us the video like 10 times at Haunted America conference so we could all see the puckwudgie running on film? Luke tells us we've all seen a ghost, we just probably don't realize everybody we see isn't really physical there. Tracy used a blog and I used gps in coordination to find The Seven Gates of Hell.

we didn't find Zombie Road, but did selfies outside The Demon House, The Union Screaming House, and the hospital where the exorcism took place. and The Diamonds and some Route 66 motels and signs....Tracy found an open door and we did some quick urban exploring. strangely enough, we left that location and found another abandoned motel, but a cop was sitting there. he soon left and went to sit at the motel we'd just left. ummmmmm......found Big Bender. and the Elijah P. Lovejoy monument. and Robert Wadlows grave and 3 photo ops.

Haunted Alton Walking Tour: Mineral Springs Hotel. Sweet Shop. Unitarian Church. Apt. building that was on the Underground Railroad. a haunted alley where a night watchman was abducted and murdered. so many stories. there was a full moon and a thunderstorm. it was a perfect weekend.

the Highlander now has a name. Ghostleigh. a winged beast (owl or Mothman) flew into Tracy's side of the car on way home. new projects on the horizon....a mannequin dummy voodoo doll and a worry monster with ouija board tummy. and a gutted out grandfather clock made into a spooky curio display.

July 27 2021 while licensing the truck, Donna H. told me her security cams in store will go off at night. they're motion activated. she'll see orbs. some mornings she'll come in and stuff is on the floor. but it's not where it could've just fell off the wall or shelf or whatever. and she says the basement (now off limit to customers but years ago they had clothing down there, I bought some Lee jeans and a pair of boots from there in high school) is especially creepy. I just looked at the picture and realized it was an IOOF building....google tells me: This theater is on the 1913 Sanborn, as one of the storefronts in the Odd Fellows building, which was constructed in 1912. The storefront which contained the theater is now a pizza place. actually, it's now a closed business.

I love when we get to go to locations we've seen on tv. McPike Mansion. Ghost Adventures Season 20 episode 17. when we talk to the same people they talked to. They got to walk around more of the house than we did. the first, second, and third floors. check my skin, Zak. is it ice cold, bro? I kid. I. love. you. guys. there was more of the crypt there. the path through the woods wasn't really that long. we met Beth. and damn, this girl can decipher evps in record time. jealous.
