yesterday was the last day of high school for Katie.
one mom friend got pics of her girl before school...I had to be showered in by 6. other girls posted selfies. Kate took some, but has to pick the one(s) she'll let me have. she did post a friends pic on instagram. I made early supper, we started watching Catfish, Jared called and she left. so, I ended up in bed at 6:30 for a nap, and the alarm went off at 6 a.m. hadn't had a crash day in a while. guess I was due one....and I give all credit to Aldo, our amazing contract washer whose only English words I have heard to date are "Good Morning."

I'm in a tizzy.
Kate said no more cake. I have this vision of the girls cutting their cakes together....cakes on a pedestal. 3 layer graduated round cakes. so, did some shopping for things to create pedestals with. ended up finding stuff in my own cabinets. got on amazon for cake server and cake pan set. want glittery toppers. could arrive between 3-8. I waited too damn long. so have to think of something else. I pinned the girls down to flavors....vanilla for Kate. chocolate for Britt. they thought about going to athletic banquet, then decided to go to Walmart shopping for stuff for senior trip instead. It will be the basketball girls celebration. they had an amazing run. but they are not the only students in that school. so, while I kind of wanted to make her go, and even changed clothes!, I will now put on my p.j.s and watch tv.
The Schwan's guy caught me. His 22 year old son died. his heart exploded in his sleep. no health insurance. no life insurance. the first funeral home they went to told them sorry. no financing. can you even imagine????

so, I'm up late googling shit....
we have dessert for party. I am freaking out. what kind of cake? what kind of topper? Kate assures me Grandma Ann is making 2 cakes. and we're doing watermelon on a stick and icicles. she says this is enough. maybe I'll just buy a bunch of cookies.....
then I got on amazon for pink and gold balloons and pink and gold forks. and successfully (this time) signed up for prime. God knows it would save me an ass load of $$$ on shipping....
Kate brought home Kevin's Fathers Day gift she made in wood shop. she ordered pics for her tri-fold board.

I worked on cleaning garage and shoved all the garage sale stuff in truck to deliver tomorrow after work. also got the grad cards all done thus far....I had bought exactly enough! Katie helped me solve the dilemma of $. She said $5 is better than nothing. So, I went with $10 per grad. which still feels cheap, but if everyone they sent an announcement to gives them $10....I hope they sent out a bunch of announcements! Normally I give $20-25, but have never rec'd this many before.
Budduh killed chicken #3 that we know of....Kevin raked a bunch of eggs out from under front porch. Baby Kyla had her baby! Finally talked to Julie about grad party: she'll do food. we'll do deserts and decorations.

The. Very. Last. FFA. Banquet.
left work early, got her senior trip stuff notarized at school, then to Trenton to chiropractor and other things...picked up Kevin's Rx stuff, had to wait, then had to throw groceries in fridge & freezer, and slid into the banquet during opening prayer....didn't have time for makeup or a change of clothes. Senior Trip Parent meeting was during auction, so other moms filled me in. Katie's speech was perfect. didn't get the traditonal group picture afterwards, lots of kids had left the building. All in all, a good last banquet....
