MORTUARY
This is the reason I went back to school. It's an opportunity. A fresh start. ( famous last words, mom. I was probably the only kid who would love living in a funeral home IN a cemetery!)
Septic tank overflowed. No grass. House looks sketchy. Guessing mom went into this 2006 movie situation sight unseen....
Elbow grease? Ugh. Turn and run now. You got suckered.

Walking the Twilight Path The Gothic Book of the Dead
well. (sigh) my attempt at an altar in the windowsill was a bit misguided....live and learn. live and learn.Excarnation: carrion birds dispose of the dead. Inhumation: burial in earth. SO many herbs. Ritual baths. Bath sachets. Funeral shroud. A cemetery with spirit. Manifestation of spirits: temperature drop...sudden eerie silence...draft, wind, breeze from nowhere...buzzing in ears...whispered voices in back of mind...sudden flash of images...ghostly touch...tingling or vibrating in arms, hands, face, or limbs...shimmering gray spot in vision or just out of corner of eye...electrical disturbances, equipment failure, battery drain...knocking, rappings...small object's moving. medicine pouch the rights of spirits. fasting. lots of time. taking a good hard look at yourself. I. just. can't. this seems more like something for a young single pet less person with lots of privacy and free time. I got a lot out of reading this 📚 and admire those who do follow the twilight path. I don't feel I'm ready now, but maybe someday... I don't have a local occult supply store-mores the pity- but I have the internet. And Michelle's recipes. "...several of the witches I met in college..." this woman is my hero. Plain and simple.

big beautiful house built in 1812. 10 years ago Will bought a rocking horse at a garage sale and feels there's a little boy attached to it. started seeing shadows, hearing noises. loud knocking. a visiting psychic said Will's father is still in his room and is not leaving him. the activity affects his daughter, who was close to her grandfather. Will is overwhelmed trying to explain the situation.

New England early settlers were very superstitious and put well worn shoes in walls of their homes to trick spirits. the shoe is protection for the home. I knew this from the show Nick Groff and Elizabeth Saint were on....The Ghosts of Shepherdtown, I think. a shoe historian tells them the shoe is Puritan, 1700s. taking the shoe to the cemetery to the original family trying to make a connection. I like the way they think! huh. they got a cemetery evp. why would a spirit hang out at their stone? or is he with the shoe? confusion.
has the shoe absorbed all the emotions in this house all these years? and isn't that cat on the couch interfering with the investigation?
Will has to rediret his fear. If he puts a shoe in the attic for his family, to absorb bad stuff and protect, he can be confident in the home and so can his family. "I give you something old, and I give you something new. Look out after us and we'll look out after you." the activity in the home is not bad. paranormal activity is easy to misinterpret. we all fear the unknown. (and let's be honest, every house makes noise. I would imagine the older the house, the more the creaking and groaning.)

Sheriff, there's been another murder. And another one. And another one... think I'm giving up candy corn....
today was one of those days when I thought I worked but I had traded it with someone and didn't change my calander....
so merrily went to Princeton to put my paycheck in bank and stock up on Dayquil/Nyquil (round 3). and an emergency pit stop at Casey's. Rusty and I celebrated with a lap at the park. now my head is plugged up and I have a sore throat. did feel better for a couple of days.....and the werewolf pack on the edge of town is still howling.....
Christmas is over and put away. now to start on the grandkids birthday gifts....

FOOTBALL!
yesterday Zerelda and Daddy came to watch FOOTBALL! and to play, of course. Dr. Barbie is still a favorite. she saw a lot of patients . listening to their heart, kisses, bandaids and songs sent all the patients on their way. Zerelda was also a hairdresser and could make my hair any color. mainly pink. we added 'achoo' and 'roar' to hide & seek. towards the end she was Rusty and taking naps in his bed. and she got sassy with Papa.
