today on YouTube I'm watching a 1997 movie: Little Bigfoot. it's a family movie, widowed mom takes her annoying children to a mountain cabin for the summer, where they trespass, meet a baby bigfoot, and do all kinds of stereotypical family movie things. there's the All American Girl good hearted environmentalist vet, the ruthless logging company sneakily breaking all the rules, the racing up and down dirt mountain roads on two tires, poaching, the cute teenage son, the imaginative middle child riding his bike, the annoying little baby sister. the dog. the mom is a doppleganger for someone I know. even her voice. and the cliched expressions. she should've just sent them to summer camp. of course it has a happy ending. I am a bit disappointed in the Bigfoot Mom. she got shot and just laid in the cave and moaned while her bigfoot baby was running all over the mountain doing shenigans. finally when push came to shove she got out of the cave. then they pose majestically on a rock for all the world to see when the shit goes down. but only the sheriff & Payton & Maggie see them. and it's their secret. {ahem}. it's these pacts that make it hard for the rest of us to find bigfoot, folks. Bigfoot mom and the 3 kids mom should have coffee. they're both letting their kids run wild. maybe they can share their secrets. but all in all, Bilbo did have beautiful eyes. Young Payton Shoemaker and his sister are the only ones who can save Little Bigfoot and his family from the ruthless logging company that sets out to eliminate them.

someone I follow on instagram gave this movie 1 claw up and said they watched it on YouTube...you know me. I love a campy Bigfoot movie. and found footage? even better. the film students, the documentary, the budget, the hiking in the mountains, the creepy injured wandering people, the girl who ate their map. you never saw Bigfoot, but you felt him. you sensed him. you heard him. my skin was crawling while they're huddled in that tent. no signal on their phones. no first aid kit. running out of food. but that won't be an issue now....I'd say 4 claws up. just 'cause.

the weatherman was calling for freezing rain. I woke up at 7, nothing. went back to bed. got up about 9:30ish, teeny tiny snowflakes. fed dog 12:45, it's raining.

starting to dismantle Christmas, inbetween washing sheets and scrubbing floors. cleaned out big dollhouse to display my big creations. put the Barbie doll critters on the row of Stephen King books. kind of sad to take 'er all down. I'll miss the lights. Kevin is working today, and hoping the roads are good enough to drive when he gets off work. glad I'm not a barn person everyday...but this weather. ugh. the roads. walking the risers. doublechecking plastic and heaters and sprayfoaming gaps. that was a scary (and inevitable) decision to leave. it seemed attainable. student loan was almost paid off...debt consolidation was paid off. but then we bought a truck. and while I am happy to make minimum wage, and EXTREMELY happy to work parttime, it was a HUGE paycut. and have to stop myself from living my old lifestyle. have to watch those pennies now...cause we never were really well off to begin with, just living paycheck to paycheck like a lot of other Americans. finding old true crime books in my random cleaning...did I already read them? would I remember? was excited to find Ray and Faye Copeland in the big dollhouse. put it in my read it again, Sam pile. busy working on my paranormal comic book. do a lot of giggling and patting myself on the back. sometimes I really think I am quite clever. and starting the epic Cryptid Quilt. I can see it in my minds eye, and baby, it is fabulous. truly fabulous. and there is always always always house cleaning. I don't mind cleaning, I love the smell of a clean house, but it's like anything else, I have to mentally prepare and get psyched up.

this is the outline I went with, but he'll have button eyes. tomorrow will make a mouth pattern and cut out mouth, and teeth. tongue, maybe. we'll see. will sketch a Nessie, too. thinking I'll get blue for the backing blocks, to be sky and Nessie's lake. a print or calico. then iron interface onto the fabric and zigzag. then just sew blocks together. I think. still thinking a couple of footprints leading into forest....this is my kind of project----no rules. no directions. fly by the seat of my considerable sized pants. oh...and a ghost. maybe even Tiger King. you. just. never. know.
