had a wonderful visit from Koren, Cody, Ian, Coralie, Violet, and Snickerdoodle.
this house has been said to be haunted.
this beautiful old house is by the entrance to Lake Marie at Mercer. my sister-in-law has lived there for years. a former co-worker grew up there living with her grandparents. at her birthday party, her little 3 year old brother disappeared. he was found in the pond. the current tenant asked her to come to the house, there is activity. she hears a child crying. she thinks it is the little brother and that her friend can help him cross over. Bev was very upset about this. she didn't want to think he'd been there all these years. the family had left the home. he was alone. I don't know if she ever went to the house.

work. picked up limbs in yard. fed dogs. lugged out trash. Zerelda helped me vacuum and pay bills.
we even ordered stamps online since Grandma can never seem to get to post office....

KJ lost his keys at bb practice at Cainsville, so Z and Taylore & I drove to Ridgeway to give him the other set.
that and going to work are my big accomplishments for the day. heard an April Wine song on radio....and one on our trip...need to finish my book. and put up laundry. and find something to eat. and post more pics on instagram....

I had somewhat planned a trip to Iowa and then into Minnesota....
Kevin switched it up on me and I had to go along with being spontaneous. not something I'm good at....
so our anniversary trip turned into #roadtrippinacrossillinois. we found Bigfoot! followed a Bigfoot camper (not quick enough to get a picture, so googled one.....),then this Yeti semi trailer,
and then a pink Bigfoot
and there were Yeti signs at Casey's and a Bigfoot sign at the place we ate supper.... we saw how a lock and dam works.
found the birthplace of Ronald Reagan. (got this somewhat spooky picture....)
we found and followed the Illinois River Road.
we went to the home where Abraham & Mary Lincoln raised their boys in Springfield.
found that #honestabe🎩 statue at the Illinois State Fairgrounds.
then onto Hannibal. we'd never been. we climbed 244 steps to the Mark Twain Lighthouse.
we watched a barge going down the river.
we missed the boat tour by 5 minutes.
the haunted house on the hill was closed today. we walked around. and then we came home.
I am glad we can have these adventures now.so many older people there at attractions with walkers and canes. we're going while we can still walk and climb stairs.
wore sweats and a hoody when we left after work Sunday afternoon....dressed my version of cute Monday....today was capris and my Sallie House tee and makeup. the clerk at Lincoln Home commented on my shirt and said he'd have to check it out...had I heard of Waverly Hills? have I heard of Waverly Hills. indeed, kind sir, I have. rather smug about that one!
