thoughts.....

the old house by Wade road that burnt recently has been bulldozed and buried, along with the shed and the barn. next year, it'll be a cornfield and a forgotten memory. surely there were smiles in that house, some laughter, some tears. some worry. some joy. all bull dozed. were there spirits? will they move on or just wait for something to come along to attach themselves to?
driving through Kentucky: Katie: "Everything's greener in Kentucky." Nicole: "You can't have a road trip without a road."
we were lost in an endless time loop of 2 counties after our visit to Home For Wayward Baby Dolls. finally found civilization and sprayed the sage. (note to self: spray the sage quicker next time!) it was an amazing journey. had a lot of fun with the girls. not sure how much fun they had with us.....I learned that I love rap music and can't tell a story to save my ass. we also started taking pics with people we meet on ghost hunts. Lauren and Eliza and Matt were a blast! and I'm not 100% sure, but I wasn't honked at. and I don't think I ran any red lights! (we don't have traffic lights here. I forget they're a thing sometimes....) of course, it was heavenly having Katie helping drive. I got a bit car sick in backseat, but well worth it. and when I got tooooooo tired to drive there on the end lap, she wearily took over and we made it alive.
I had another after work bed nap. Kevin mowed yard and made supper. I'm pretty much worthless after a ghost hunt. and then this heat....whelp. the fat lady has sang by 4 p.m. most days....
there were all these tiny firework tents....little gazebo type canopies like you see for vegetable stands here. with a card table. not many side roads....they were side paths. the mountains....such beauty. but when you've got no signal and there are no gas stations.....it was a bit disconcerting...
