paranormal roadtrip continues...

we were at the Lake Shawnee Amusement Park. I was SOOOO excited to see that The CHRIS was our tour guide. I giddily asked if we could have a pic with him. he's a celebrity in my book. he had stories. he wasn't thrilled with Jack filming there, he didn't like the name of the show PORTALS TO HELL. but when they explained that at the end they ask if it was a portal, and his dad Ozzy Osbourne wanted to come...he said yes. but Ozzie got Covid and couldn't come. likewise Jack's partner Katrina. so Heather Taddy stepped in. they filmed 8 days. Destination Fear filmed there. The Dead Files. his son was on the episode. a show I watched where people stayed alone for 28 days. the RV he was in is still there. can't remember name of it. will have to google. "The Watch, a new National Geographic Channel series, is the weirdest thing I’ve seen all year, and that’s a compliment. It’s a surveillance documentary, an exploration of isolation and loneliness, and a paranormal reality series all in one." Unexplained with William Shatner. he is so interesting. I jotted down notes later....I think: 2 drowned in lake, 3 in cement swimming pond, a girl on swings. he never watched the episodes filmed there, he wants to tell the history, not the history that the tv shows spin. he is very protective of the land and the spirits and remains of the Indians they found on land. showed us tons of evidence. told us how his dad had worked there as a teen, and always wanted to buy the park and reopen it. which he was able to do in the 1980s. but it wasn't profitable. they had to do other things, like the mud bog which is when they found the human remains. he is respectful of the property. he won't let Zak Bagans on the place. he requires a script or you can't come in, although they can use the $$$$. layers of history. Indians. settlers. park.
5% road grade. ears popping. rubbed the butt of the Mothman statue for luck. I didn't know about the tradition of leaving a can of beans from Chris's video game. if I ran the store, I'd have a display of beans, and a sign explaining and I'd be selling the hell out of canned beans. I would've bought a can if I'd seen such a display. the Worlds Only Mothman Museum was amazing. so was the Pt. Pleasant Trading Co. we found the location of Silver Bridge, but not the monument. I could visualize the cars crashing into the water. the screams of the breaking cables and people in the water. the floating wrapped Christmas presents. so sad.
we talked about future epic locations. Centralia PA the town on fire. Gettysburt. Maine- Stephen King gate. Washington DC. Pea Patch Island, Fort Delaware. my great great grandfather was a Civil War prisoner there. Pennhurst School, PA. Old Joliet Prison, Illinois. Octagon House, Franklin, KY.
we found 2 of the TNT bunkers. oh, for a couple of cans of spraypaint! so echoey. not mud or bugs...we came prepared, but forgot our boots and bug spray in car. gas 3.69gallon. $48.82. more monster skeletons. and some giant rubber duckies on pillars. like the stone lions that mark mansions, but giant duckies. wicked awesome. drove past a sign for Coolville. I wanted to go look for Scooby and the Gang. West Virginia Wild & Wonderful. deer, deer, deer. they're the size of German Shepherds, I swear.
Brandy Gap Tunnel #2. Tracy found this location. we went at full dark. had trouble finding it. Chris said, "Like it didn't want to be found." spooky AF. the sky here. WOW. the air is heavy. the road sketchy....could see your breath in the tunnel. it is under a 200 year old cemetery. wet and drippy and echoey. 'body juice." we had out headlamps and flashlights. we went hiking in. Chris stayed by entrance. he was videoing. he felt watched. we did walking out, kept looking behind us. Chris said he'd shine flashlight towards car. licence plate reflects. then it was gone. like someone had walked in front of it. several times. he found The Grafton Monster. lurking in an alley by some spooky buildings. deer deer deer deer oh deer.
