Wyeth-Tootle Mansion

a good ghosthunt always begins at Subway. these are facts.
full moon.
Wyeth-Tootle Mansion. touted as being The. Most. Haunted. Building. In. St. Joe. disembodied voices! smell of perfume! footsteps! whistling! shadow figures in front of stained glass window! sounds of children playing! I started out in the turret room. which is awesome. I debunked several shadows on the wall being the outside flag and cop lights in the distance. while I was sitting on top step I leaned over to see if the flag was waving, I almost felt like I bumped into someone. of course no one was there. and during one of the sessions we sat in on, I was by the doorway, where there was a catball right outside in hallway. and I thought I heard 2 creaky footsteps like a kid sneaking down to the kitchen for a snack after bedtime, and a quiet sigh like oh. you heard me. but the cat ball didn't go off. the problem with this beautiful house is open staircases, so noise carries between floors. and that fact that the basement isn't even creepy. also, they just let everyone go do their own thing, so who knows if you're hearing anything ghostly or just fellow investigators. made friends with a couple of other guests. Kevin had some tummy issues but I think the fact that he had a new tv in the car made him feel better. St Joe Best Buy is closing, we know this since we bought the tv there. and like the last tv we bought there when Koren was in college...it took some doing to get it into the car. brought back some memories.
while I would never go on a ghost hunt here again, I did get to meet Becky from American Hauntings. I covert her blue sweatshirt. our other host was interesting. she had quit Ghost Hunts USA, which flew her all over the country for hunts, she had been to The. Conjuring. House. she also had a metal arm from a fall down stairs in the dark. and had suffered multiple broken ribs on a hunt. she knew the former Ghost Hunt USA guys we met at Joplin. You have to hand it to a haunted house/museum that has a lion. a grizzly. mounted shit hung in creepy hallways. and a display about the 1993 Pattonsburg Flood and the subsequent filming of Ride With the Devil in 1998. did anyone die in the house? why is it haunted? none of us guests could figure it out. this was kind of a throwback to The Mason House Inn. and The Kendrick House. maybe you're selling it a little hard? although this doll looks like she could just walk right out of her display case and wreak some havoc....and I found our adopted daughter Kayla's historical doppleganger.
