as far as I knew-I was supposed to be at Wade 3 by 5 a.m.-4 hours sleep-then was sent to Wade 6-they started 6AM. to see horses-to M&D-Lisa there. Fight with tired Koren about making a bird nest pm-John made a beautiful shelf and an antique-looing 13 stars and bars flag in Industrial Art. the kid has talent.
11-10 sore throat. there's a Richard Axsom in Gallatin per a customer at Mom's store. snow/sleet p.m. Got Axsom reunion scrapbook.
11-11 slick-slid x2 on way to work-to M&D with Axsom book & supper, Lisa there.
11-12 saw buck when I was standing on Wade 3 porch a.m.-doe on side of road on way to W.M. Kid's snowboots. saw 7 deer hanging-they always look bigger when they run in front of my car. Pizza Hut: Koren's book-it. Kevin took his gun to work with him. Driving at night hurts my eyes (headlights) driving when it's sunny makes me extremely sleepy.
11-13 in the 70's bellbottoms (my faves were tan plaid, green plaid, and an old old faded pair with huge patches on the knees), striped tee shirts, shirts with billowy sleeves and platform shoes (I had brown leather like ones with wood type platform). In the early 80s jeans had sayings (JR is my Sugar Daddy) bright stiched on designs, some patches. Colored painter pants were in-Suzie Ormsby had apple green ones-mine were off white. In Jr High-velour tops and gauchos-I had 2 pairs, 1 denim, 1 off white painter pants. I had a pr of tan jeans I wore with a white blouse out of some tan suede like material I made myself a little string tie and a 'disco bag' & that was my OUTFIT! to wear to school. You didn't see many pontyails back then unless they were playing BB or running track. Feathered hair was in-I tried to do mine all the way around the back, but it was tooo curly. stacks were the rage in the early 80s-late 70s even had one girl who had her hair cornrowed-beads and all like Bo Derek in the movie 10.
mom made me one of my winter coats-a brown design wrap around coat that tied shut. I dont' know how they kept us all in clothes and coats and school supplies when things were so tight. I dress my kids with credit cards and then send off my paychecks for the payments. I really don't like going to garage sales-they were a necessity when I was a kid and when Koren was little-we've done food stamps and WIC & Mo. Dept of Health Clinics & heat assistance and commodities....now I go way overboard. KJ has been "Wooody" & "Dirk" the last two days. WILDLIFE FACT FILE: Giant octopus male dies soon after mating. female strings up to 100,000 eggs on the ceiling of her lair-never leaving nursery for 6 mo. to eat-mother will die after young hatch & swim off to join plankton-she is starved and exhausted. Kevin called someone about a beagle pup. Mom, Bre, & John over. Bre will be back for Thanksgiving and thinks she'll go to halfway house Dec. 10th & won't be home for Christmas. She's growing her hair & just looks happier and better. Mom worked on the puzzle.
11-14 drove past Elk farm at Bucklin, MO on way to buy Scooby Doo-a registered beagle female outside Bevair. She's the (2lbs) runt and friendly and adorable. almost 8 weeks old. KJ can say Macaulay Culkin! Scooby Doo has a flea.
11-15 stool not flushing right (again). must be over feeding Snoball, he vomited x2 last nite. 43 degrees am. have all KJ's xmas gifts ordered Legos for Houston, wanted magnets form Rob C & DIanna & American peg hangers for Karlan. Flea collar on Scooby Doo. to see horses. CRAZY LAWS by Dick Hyman . Missouri law says it is illegal to carry an uncaged bear down a highway.
