a historical tidbit from my newspaper reading...

Kevin's uncle Duane Dailey writes a weekly newspaper column that appears in several newspapers, including our local paper, The Mirror. this article is about MU Thompson Farm located at the end of Highway C in Grundy County near Spickard. (Kevin woke up and unpaused the show I had paused while I went to the basement to switch laundry and started sewing....anyway. long story short, lost my tv turn.) so, was typing a column of his, I usually just do the ones that have some historical family antecdote of some type. this is just a cool factoid. the farm was given to the University in honor of Guy Thompson, a cattleman.
"Thompson cattle were raised on North Missouri grass and shipped to market by rail from nearby Spickard, which had a rail-side stockyard, as did most small towns.
