had time to facebook this a.m. before work....and my feed is full of props for "Mercer's Finest" who plays at Mizzou.

she had a hell of a game. she is the hometown girl done good. happy for her. but does this make her the finest from Mercer? there are many talented kids who grew up here, and yeah, she is the only starter at Mizzou, but we have a gal who makes cards at Hallmark. kids who are now educators and coaches. who have made the decision to be stay-at-home parents. who do what they have to do to get by in the hard old world. the whole Mercer's Finest just pisses me off. this is a small town. and basketball is king. so, this attitude is expected. I wouldn't have an objection to "Putting Mercer On The Map." but she isn't the only success story from our tiny town. rant over.
