woke up and today was the day....paranormal road trip!

headed to Baring, MO (tried to find the hotel this summer, but I was t thinking it was in nearby Edina....)to see if I could tell where the Hotel Baring had once sat. unfortunately, no. the only building # I could see was 4hundredsomething, and the hotel was 167. there is still a beautiful old church and grotto. but, now I know. drove through tiny towns, saw lots of critters (including a black cow peacefully munching grass on the exact edge of the blacktop)....signs: Impassible During High Water. Sharp Curves. One Lane Bridge. Bump. beautiful trees in all the glory of autumn. harvest going on. old barns. Something I didn't see a lot of: convenience. as in need to pee and buy another Pepsi. I never saw anything till I'd blown right on past it. "This historic hotel is believed to be haunted, and was formerly a railroad stopover during the early twentieth century era. The building is believed to be haunted by several apparitions, who are believed to be associated the building as it changed hands and uses over the many years of its occupation. The first is believed to be a former banker who was murdered in the hotel. Passing motorists and pedestrians have seen an elderly man in a trenchcoat ascending a flight of steps in front of the building, who suddenly vanishes into thin air. The second apparition is that of a young girl in a white dress, who has been seen playing in the hotel hallways. The third is a sombre woman in period clothing, who has been seen staring down into the street with a saddened expression on her face. Late at night, local residents have heard scream coming out of the building, but upon investigation have found nothing." comments: 2016 - "This building has been torn down." 2018 - "as a former resident of Baring I have never heard these stories. I am sure no banker was murdered there. I grew up in the house formerly owned by the banker and he lived elsewhere after the bank failed in the depression years."
(this is a picture I found on line. glad someone had posted one!)
