The Roaring 20's are back!

started my new year off in typical style...fell back asleep after my alarm went off....almost hit a deer on way to work...but my brakes are AWESOME!...finished KJ's quilt and tossed in washer. goal is for him to sleep under it tonight (or more likely, for it to be in a heap on the floor at the foot of the bed.) making cornbread, fried potatoes and beans for supper. this staple meal got us through a lot of lean times, now we eat it just cause we love it. of course, these days I buy the beans in a jar already cooked, and the potatoes in a bag already peeled and sliced. I still have to put an egg, water, and milk in the cornbread and stir it up, so it ain't all a cake walk. althoughe we upgraded from Jiffy to Famous Daves cornbread mix.

Kevin opted to start his new year with a day off. KJ was with his new friend Ann. and Katie was with Brayden in Nebraska, traveling to Wyoming. I love their adventures. I'm glad they have them.

KJ was overawed with his new quilt. he did notice it was rather large. (I started it when he had a king size bed. he now has a queen.) have more Superhero fat quarters left for another day, another time. pillowcases, perhaps? took down all Christmas EXCEPT the kitchen snowmen, which I'm leaving up through winter, not 'cause I'm lazy and grew weary of climbing up and down taking shit down, but because it is winter and they are adorbs. and the tree. Clarice is hanging out. not sure if she'll just be a year round resident yet. it could happen. what to do now? start a new book? watch tv in bed? so many possibilities and it's only 7:42 p.m.
