spent our weekend at Paracon KC, ghost hunting at Kansas State Penitentiary, and celebrating our birthday girls Violet and Millie.

got to see Aunt Katie, too, give the girls their gifts, and go to their neighborhood pool party. I think I did good this year with gifts. some years I am waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay off base...
I love seeing 'my friends' at haunted events....people that I know from tv, facebook, youtube, previous ghost hunts and paracons...sometimes they'll remember me. I'm such a fan girl. I was telling Brian Murray from Ghost Hunters all about my cardboard Abbadon Hotel creation after he told our group how he met the guy who made the Hell House movies and had a chance to buy the clown costume. #5 is coming out this year. he politely listened. he's a good guy. it was a good, exhausting weekend. Walk Fit sent my weekly message, they are worried about my activity level. it has tanked. no 20,000 step days since I got home from Colorado...but the goal they gave me is 7500. I hit it every day. haven't missed a work out. not-a-one. I set my own goal of 10,000 minimum steps a day, but aiming at 12,000+. I think I'm doing ok.

Kevin took today off and it was fencing day.

he walked out the post placement with the roller measure thing (that I later ran over with truck but he fixed it. poor man should hire real help.) this was after I got the truck stuck in the mudhole and he had to pull me out with tractor. he doesn't yell or get grumpy, just patiently tells me how to drive the tractor closer to posts so I can push them in with bucket, but it is still nerve wracking. I fully expect to be yelled at and belittled when I help. old childhood trauma. or maybe I made it all up. maybe my memories are from a past life. all I know is I do have a severe problem with criticism. none of it is constructive to me. it is all hateful. I've had some really really really shit days at work over the years. it's just how I roll. we got all the posts set. AND mowed yard at farm. AND got Rip to vet to board before they closed. even carved out a few minutes to visit Miss Izzy. her baby with the pink shirt was LOST. got home and frantically packed for Paracon KC tomorrow. decided I really want to go see Jay Wasley at another paracon in KC in Feb, but tickets are depressingly high. right now offering VIP or general admission, both 2 days including concerts. no schedule posted yet, just guests.

was scrapbooking Stanley pics today and really thought I'd captured a shadow figure in our room!

went back through pics on computer and enlarged....and while it looks like head and shoulders...it is that way in several pics. and a pic of dresser shows Kevin's water bottle. so....but that IS where I heard the creaking floor footstep sounds....it's my ghost adventure. I interpret it as I will.

today I realized I needed a mini Big Wheel for The Stanley display. found one on amazon.

while out and about Halloween Window Browsing during Rip's groom realized I needed a desk bell (found one on eBay) and a small topiary animal. (amazon.) Colorado pics arrived today. 1/2" rain. cloudy. much cooler. I love Tractor Supply stuff, but man. pretty high brow for my motley Creepy Corner DIY corner.

I love it when shit just falls into place...

on our trip to The Stanley, I bought a tiny Stanley ghost and a 217 sign at gift shop. still had Mom's old door. perfect. painted a pic frame to display a pic or 2 I took at Stanley. remembered The Twins I made during Covid. and my Stephen King Funko Pop. AND that cool Stephen King print I bought in Las Vegas at Oddities and Curiousities. I made 4 haunted room keys. found an old piece of lace. ordered a REDRUM sticker. finished The Shining novel and placed it. then made several trips up and down steps putting Stephen King books inside the cabinet I placed inside door. (using top to display). put the rub on eyes on that teeny tiny jar Melissa gave me. I'm lovin' it!

picked up carnival prizes, spent $50 on raffle tickets, won $40 cash

I watched the Amy Bradley is Missing series while walking inside. used prime credits to rent The Shining. worked on picture frames. spray painted that brontosaurus in yard whose been through the mower a few times. (added red to the hole in his side and his chewed up leg). black chalk paint on baby zebra. just noticed the horse I'm using has wings...so I guess Baby Winged Zebra.
Kevin bought a yard sweeper, he taught me how to use it. (will I remember???? remains to be seen.) we journeyed to Humeston after lawnmower fuel. I could've watched Iz tomorrow while Ann's at dentist, but I'll be running errands in Trenton while Rip is being groomed. crock pot steak for supper. easier for me to eat. not Kevin's favorite, but he puts up with me. his sides are steak fries and baked beans. mine is steamed broccoli. store bought, since we're feeding the local deer herd with our broccoli patch. still hot. and that's been our day.

meatloaf and scalloped potatoes for supper.

have steaks in crockpot for supper tomorrow, and another steak thawed out to grill Wednesday. (meat we didn't use on family weekend.) both yards mowed. Rip picked up from boarding. Izzy called so I could tell her Happy Birthday!
