a self-professed pain-in-the-ass person to go into π» country with. quite honestly, it bothers me that sometimes they have to leave the body overnight. cause the π» π» π» are still eating it. I know they're dead, but....ugh. that's kind of insult to injury. it'd be hard to be a park ranger.
"he probably only had a split second."
grizzliesπ» first protected 1975.
Erwin's widow sued for $5million in wrongful death suit. she didn't win.
hyperphagia: desperate single minded quest for prehibernation calories.
grizzlies π» have been clocked at 44' per second. per. second. gotta be a quick draw on the bear spray.
almost everyone who lived in that part of the park knew No. 59. she was one of the most photographed Yellowstone π»π»π». she did have some pesky habits. she was a management π» , she'd earned a capture, relocation, ear tag, and radio collar. now she's gonna go down in history.π. Yellowstone rangers will tolerate a lot from a π», but not this. not killing and eating a human. how is the bear supposed to know human is off the menu but elk π¦ and moose π« are ok? you open up the fridge door and there's the hiker/hunter/camper/ photographer.... we're taking a chance hanging out in their world. a great big one. now the rangers call the area Tesinsky Meadow. so there is that. RIP, Bill.πͺ¦π»
Yellowstone is 2.2 million acres.
Indians of the NW see the π¦⬛ as a messenger. they'll hang around a carcass.

π»whisperer
No. 79. well-known to bearπ»biologists in Yellowstone and in that part of Montana. she was considered a matriarch of the northern Yellowstone ecosystem. numerous cubs in her 22 years. but she did have a few bad habits...
No. 264 is a predatory π», a killer with a taste for fresh meat. she is also remarkably tolerant of foolish Yellowstone tourists ...she did get one tourists backpack π and ate his lunch, but didn't go out seeking pic-a-nic baskets like Yogi and BooBoo. No. 264 became one of the most photographed wild π» in the world. June 14, 2003 she was hit by a π. she had to be euthanized.πͺ¦. Super 8 motel sign in Gardiner said "Rest in Peace Bear 264. You will be missed.". for several weeks.
in 2010 there were 994 π» jams in Yellowstone.
π» clutch at survival with their 4" claws. and when bears π» π» chew on one of the 3 million or so tourists... tourists tend to sue.
the 100 yards from π» rule always applies, even if the bear is right by the road. that rule is for PEOPLE, not π». a man was in his far, reading a πΊ️. his children were running towards a π» cub.
from a safe distance shout "YOU ARE VERY CLOSE TO DYING. NOW BACK UP SLOWLY.". honestly, nature will sort out the weak ones.

Grizzly Man. "we hauled 4 trash bags of people outta that bear". those aren't people in bear costumes out there. they're big ferocious animals. probably thought Tim Treadwell was mentally retarded. out there trying to bond with grizzlies as children of the universe. Tim, you were the Zak Bagans of Grizzly Guys. RIP.
rented it off amazon prime with my free promotional credits. score. also did some house cleaning and got 2 fillings. and an awesome chair napwhere I dreamed about having my feet eaten off by a....you guessed it.....grizzly bear.
grab your favorite beverage and find a comfy seat, cause I am gonna rant.
Missouri has another new driving law that is gonna stop people dying in crashes....The. Hands. Free. Device. Law. I don't think you should drive and text. but I don't think people should do a lot of things. was it really necessary to make this a law? don't kill people. that's been a law for how long and guess what....people still kill people. now, we've already got seat belt and car seat laws. speed limits. mandatory inspections that make sure your brakes and turn signals and headlights and horn work and your windshield isn't cracked. you have to have insurance in case you are in a wreck. you have to pay your property taxes to license your vehicle. if you can't afford any of this, then you're driving illegally and can get a ticket for THAT. there should be a law about deer running into roadway. eagles soaring down out of nowhere. definitely should be a law about blowing tires on the roadway. or some kind of mechanical failure. listen up, people are gonna die driving. are you gonna outlaw heart attacks? a swarm of bees in the car? kids thrashing and yelling and throwing shit in the backseat? a huge WHOOSH from a semi you meet blowing shit all over your windshield so you can't see? massive downpours? ice? snow? driving too tired? farmers checking out crops from the roadway? small town people throwing it in park and just having a conversation in the middle of the road? farm equipment that can't get over? curves? cows out? dogs chasing cars? I can see driving drunk. not good. it's against the law. ok. you get a few tickets. you lose your license. but you still gotta go to work, right? take your kid or your mom or your neighbor to the ER. you're still driving. laws don't change behavior. if the behavior is already in place, these laws are just a revenue for the state, if they can get people to come to court and pay the tickets. but people are gonna die, regardless of how many very well intentioned laws you keep passing. are you really saving anybody? can we outlaw bad roads? immediately fix potholes? shouldn't hidden driveways be illegal? billboards? I know they distract me. cool lawns? I'm gonna rubberneck any Bigfoot I see in a yard. Christmas lights? road side crosses that are decorated for every season? I know people who not only don't pay their tickets, they don't go to court when summoned. we can die anywhere. mowing our yard. at Walmart. sleeping. death is a part of life. every death is sad and tragic. yes. but we can't prevent death by laws. people will still be making videos when they drive. checking their phone. our phones are linked to the vehicle, but that's not much safer. I have to push buttons to make that work. I'm sure that someday there will be a NO CELL PHONE TURNED ON IN CAR LAW. hell, the passenger could distract the driver by watching stuff on their own phone. what about a dirty windshield law? I'd get a ticket for that one 9 times out of 10. a driving into the sun law? a driving when you're pissed off law? or exhausted? or late? when you're in a strange place and can't decide if the gps is telling you THIS road or the NEXT road? or thinking about something? there are many many many ways of being distracted. a don't reach in the backseat trying to pick up your kids toy so they stay in their carseat law? don't eat McDonalds out of a sack between your knees with your sweet and sour souce in the cup holder law? don't open a Pepsi while driving law? what we need here is common sense. not more laws that people won't follow and won't pay the fines on if they do get pulled over. shouldn't law enforcement being solving murders? not writing tickets that people may or may not ever pay the fines on? a warning doesn't show me the error of my ways. it pisses me off. maybe I'm unique that way. maybe we just need some more road signs. we've got trucks entering roadway....steep hill grades....flood warnings...deer...school bus stop..hidden driveway...dead end...bridge out...lets put up some cell phone with a big red X in a big red circle signs. let's of course make the tax payers pay for them. I bet we cut road deaths in Missouri in half the first year. (eye roll emoji)
