Kevin took an early out. bought stuff to build Rips pen, plus retrieved the gate off the fence he took down at moms. AND foiled the future escape plans of Meggie the Dog. we'll see just how clever she really is....

Zerelda has strep and couldn't go to school today....

so we played Barbies, mom and kid, vampires, zombies, watched YouTube, colored, sketched, Zerelda got a ride in The General with Papa, who goes fast. they saw "4 + 1 deer". on a slower paced ride with Gramma, we saw vultures, a turkey, and a bunny. basketball at the park. and we drug out the Power Wheels, for good measure. she did lay down quietly a few times....

we did a ride in The General today. as we're tooling up and down dirt roads I see these purple flowers.

many many years ago Katie, Aunt Mary, and I went to Saline. she was showing me the location of old family homesteads and graveyards. Katie was very small. she was in her jammies...one of the kids outgrown Cardinal tees and KJ's outgrown Barney the Purple Dinosaur jammy pants. we took her potty chair with us in case she had to potty. and we were in the Cavalier. Koren had to work at The Feed Bunk that night. Kevin was at work. KJ stayed home. after we were very late Koren had to go to work and he was home alone.

see, we went down some sketchy roads. and the clay one with the big mudhole got us all mired up. had to walk to the nearest house to use a phone. (no cell phones back then). luckily someone was home and let us in. borrowed phone book to call our tow guy, couldn't get hold of him. so called Mom and Dad's for advice. we're hanging out and here comes this tow truck from Milners. I babble on about thank god for my parents. he laughs and says your brother called me. I've pulled that boy outta every mudhole in Mercer county. he's been stuck way worse than this. so, he laid down in that mudhole on his back, hooked me up and pulled me out. John saved the day.
