I just assumed her & mom would be all in, wasn't so sure about Brenda & John. a week of hanging out with me would stress anyone out.....so we're talking a lake house rental, a rental boat.....possibly dressing up as the cast of Gilligan's Island....(I can be Mrs. Howell....I have the dress! or if we would go the Three's Company route, I could be Mrs. Roper....)
I envision it like Dan In Real Life ...renewing old bonds and forging new ones....crowded and chaotic, lots of food....I want a Mexican night! Need to find Cody a Captain's hat, and look for a season or two of Gilligan's Island on dvd.
this would be good for our kids to grow closer, and for us big kids, as well.
I watched it, Kevin took a nap somewhere and then beat me to bed....because it seemed vitally important to put location labels on vacation pics on facebook.....which is still a work in progress....
couldn't of said it better myself. I went back to work. Kevin worked at the farm and picked up dogs at vet. KJ picked up mail at post office. Kevin & Katie went to dentist. when he gets home, we will go buy groceries. KJ found frozen cheese in big freezer so he is set for homemade pizza. think I'll nosh on some p.b. graham crackers. have a facebook chat going about a big family Lake of the Ozarks vacation next year....Brenda and John sound like they're in! need to buy Cody a captains hat and find a cd of The Love Boat Theme Song....
we spent 4 days in a cabin on the Black River with all our kids....knocking shit tons of stuff off my bucket list....Elephant Rocks....Thee Abbey Kitchen...Stonehenge at Rolla....Taum Sauk Mountain....The Worlds Largest Rocking Chair. there were road kill armadillos....so many churches and so many liquor stores...so many abandoned businesses and homes. at one point in Oklahoma I swear I saw 3 mountain goats on one of those roadside cliffs.....saw a lot of cool old signs on Route 66. we got to Tulsa. Kevin says someday we'll fly out to Vegas and rent a car and drive 66 out there.
we got home in the wee morning hours...Kevin insisted on unloading the truck and starting laundry. we all slept in, I put pictures on facebook, weeded one iris bed, and emptied out bags and did laundry. Kevin cleaned gutters, mowed the yard, trimmed branches hanging over house. I got damnable locust in my hair and all over me dragging said branches to get rid of. even brought one in the house I had to track down and kill. I am so over these things already. I 'helped' Kevin while he raised the back porch and a/c unit back up after all the rain settled the dirt again. then he went and mowed his grandma's yard. I scrounged around and found something to make for supper and did the bills.
she laughs. she smiles. she wears makeup and nice clothes. she goes with the flow and rolls with the punches. she belts out songs in the car. she sees the beauty in everything. she tries new things. she drinks watermelon flavored moonshine drinks. she even started a wine cork collection....just have one, but you have to start somewhere....
