Mercer County Relay For Life '13

on this, the weekend I have to work....

Katie went to Relay For Life, which is here in Mercer for the first time I think ever....and they had to move from the square to the school with the inclement weather...band and choir set to perform at 8, Katie has requested $ when I go. she had Kayla and Brittany over when I got home, now Josh & Danny are here hanging out with KJ....

it did snow in May.....enough to break tree limbs and electric lines and take out everyone's power and get school cancelled.....

May 2/3 2013 shall go down in infamy....Katie & I drove thru various degrees of snow, rain, and sleet to help Bubba move home from school for a week or so till summer school starts....got to check out the station and hang out in his room, then take him to Pizza Hut and Walmart and get lost in Maryville and drive home thru 3D blinding snow and state truck lights flashing and some sliding.....when Kevin got home from work, the electricity was off, he told me I was almost a widow, he about wrecked on the way home and it would've been bad. he took me and Cody to work today, Bev opted to stay home with her kids who had no electricity. must be nice to have options.....last nite was long and weary, but I was so glad I got to help him move out.....moving out day is a whole different thing from moving in day....so much more relaxed and laid back. and, of course, the snowflakes....someone hit KJ's truck at school and left him a note, he called her, the front bumper is gouged, the back fender cover is all busted, front one is scuffed, a few scratches on truck, looks like someone parked too close and caught him backing up or something.

windy wednesday

the sky clouded up, the the wind picked up, the temp dropped rapidly, Katie's bonfire turned into a movie nite, I "helped" Kevin build the wnr dog pen, but it was too cold to let them go out to exercise. waited an hour in Kasen's driveway to pick Katie up from the bonfire. tried learning stuff about my phone, accidently called both Koren & KJ, but it was good to talk to them.

today is the 3/4 grade trip to Living History Farms, they'll have to wear winter coats and gloves! I remember the year we went with Katie, it was drizzly and muddy. Tonite after twork supposed to go help Bubba move home from college. really missing my hanging out on the couch watching tv nites.....this weekend is Relay for Life in Mercer. that should be a cold one,too......the band and choir will perform at 8. Katie joined a team and will have friends over after.

PB&J tortilla

2 Medium/Soft Taco Flour Tortillas

4 tablespoons Peanut Butter

2 tablespoons Grape or Strawberry Jam/ Jelly,

2 bananas, peeled

Instructions:

1~Place tortillas on a paper towel and microwave for 10 seconds.

2~Spread 2 tablespoons peanut butter on each tortilla.

3~Add 1 tablespoon jelly to each tortilla.

4~Place the banana near the edge of the tortilla and fold up the ends of the tortilla.

5~Roll-up and enjoy!
