my Bigfoot calender and movie arrived today....

started the dvd, then had to pause to go pick Kate up from work. we watched American Horror Story, she is going to read me her FBLA speech. maybe I'll get back to dvd. an astonishing amount of people have already died. another Bigfoot slasher flick. Bigfoot Wars.

my husband is a good guy. his dad has been sick, so he's going out to the farm to help with chores.

he ran me to and from work Monday. he's been taking Katie to work. today he spent an hour pulling Kate's friend Brittany out when she got stuck on our curve bringing Katie home from dance practice. and he has a full time job. The Little Red Hen is married to the Big Red Rooster....

Oil painting of Dauphine Street.

If you are looking for me I will be on the front porch.

On the first day, God created the dog and said, sit all day by the door of your house and bark at anyone who comes in or walks past. For this I will give you a life span of twenty years.
The dog said, "That's a long time to be barking. How about only ten years and I'll give you back the other ten?"
And God said that it was good.
On the second day, God created the monkey and said, "Entertain people, do tricks, and make them laugh. For this, I'll give you a twenty-year life span."
The monkey said, "Monkey tricks for twenty years? That's a pretty long time to perform. How about I give you back ten like the dog did?"
And God again said that it was good.
On the third day, God created the cow and said, "You must go into the field with the farmer all day long and suffer under the sun, have calves and give milk to support the farmer's family. For this, I will give you a life span of sixty years."
The cow said, "That's kind of a tough life you want me to live for sixty years. How about twenty and I'll give back the other forty?"
And God agreed it was good.
On the fourth day, God created humans and said, "Eat, sleep, play, marry and enjoy your life. For this, I'll give you twenty years."
But the human said, "Only twenty years? Could you possibly give me my twenty, the forty the cow gave back, the ten the monkey gave back, and the ten the dog gave back; that makes eighty, okay?"
"Okay," said God, "You asked for it."
So that is why for our first twenty years, we eat, sleep, play and enjoy ourselves. For the next forty years, we slave in the sun to support our family. For the next ten years, we do monkey tricks to entertain the grandchildren. And for the last ten years, we sit on the front porch and bark at everyone.
Life has now been explained to you.
There is no need to thank me for this valuable information. I'm doing it as a public service.
If you are looking for me I will be on the front porch.

Kate went straight from work to Jared's. Kevin texted me to stop at Willis on way home to see if he had headlight. he installed it.

drove very slowly, all snowpacked on way to work, on way home 136 was clear, thru Ravanna snowpacked, M slushy in some spots. watched Willow Creek dvd again. trying to frame more old car ads for garage. brought Daisy in to warm up for a bit. I was musing on what to buy from Schwan's man. finally figured out that is NEXT Tuesday.....

god bless the creators of these Mark Zuckerberg memes! they bring me great joy!

CNN- This flooded Missouri highway was the scene of a horrific shark attack. Just another reason to not drive through roads that are under water. The names of these folks have not been released, however, they were the recent recipients of 4.5 million dollars from Mark Zuckerberg.

I have watched shows about conjoined twins, grandmother lovers, and men who dress like rubber dolls. I have watched the snow plow go by. and the truck stuck at the park.

and now I have taken my dose of NyQuil and taped my banana peel to my wart so I do believe it's time for bed. 'nuff.

Kevin called me at 5:41. he had just got to work. the roads were awful. he left waaaaay early.

Kate called & said J would bring her home. and I needed to make sure there was nothing in the kitchen that would embarrass her. so, I will do puddle patrol right before 6. the dogs are being quiet. I think they are just very grateful to be warm and dry and out of the weather. there was only a slight growl when the city truck plowed past our house.

yippee. it feels like winter now.

Kevin took me to work. woke him up at noon calling to tell him everyone had to be out of barns by 3 p.m. re: weather conditions. sent my teenage boys home. did a few more things, then had to call Kevin AGAIN to tell him we were to leave IMMEDIATELY. so, I was home, had chores done, and brought a shivering Daisy inside all by 2:45 p.m. so far she's been quiet. Kevin & Kate are both mad at me for bringing her in. if it gets too bad, will put her in garage. Kevin cleaned off Blazer, took Kate to work, I will pick her up at 6:00. can't make her drive when I was too chickenshit to drive myself!

white stuff on the ground and hear sleet hitting the house. better go out and start the truck....

in case I don't make it: some memes for your enjoyment. yeah, I've basically given up on the not posting memes thing. I think I have cut back some...

at some point last night or early this morning, the wind blew over the dog pen.

I was getting ready for work and heard scratching at the front door: Daisy. so let her in, then went out in my jammies looking for Sasha. she was still in the dog house, which had also blown over. didn't have time to do anything with it, so gated them in the kitchen with food and water, shut Kevin's door so he could sleep, and got to work at exactly 7:00 a.m. Kevin went out and set dog pen back up, he put Daisy out but said Sasha could stay in sinc she was being quiet. so, now I feel really bad. poor Daisy is not only outside in winter, when they're calling for a storm, but she's out there alone without her buddy Sasha. I almost feel like I should go back to the shelter and adopt ANOTHER weiner dog to be her outside friend. A shrink would just love me. dozed off and on thru the Chiefs game, we are at 5 losses, 10 wins.

I was watching my 2nd bigfoot movie of the night...had seen them both before, but couldn't really remember what happened....

decided to go to basement and look in an old Life magazine down there for a car ad to frame for garage wall, lost track of time, totally missed Kevin's text. usually I put my phone in my pocket when I got downstairs, but didn't this time....he had stuff in cart from the new band he found, with a 50% clearance xmas code, so ordered that. then got on amazon and found myself a bigfoot calander and 2 movies for the same $ he spent while I still have my free trial of prime shipping. Kate to Jared's for another xmas.
we used to have many family xmases in the past. when I was a kid, we opened our presents at Mom and Dad's on xmas eve, then milked early and went to Grandma Grace & Grandpa Vermal's for lunch and family xmas. in later years, we combined thanksgiving and xmas into one family event, and we went to mom and dads, then we had our own little xmas here with the kids, and there was an xmas at Lije & Dixie's, too. plus school xmas concerts, xmas dance recitals, xmas girl scout parties, school xmas party, 4H xmas party.....it was party hardy. now we just have 1 small xmas. just us'ns. less hectic. more cozy. and the most important people in my world. Koren now has another family xmas to go to.....her in-laws. and some day Kate & KJ will have other xmas's as well, then their kids will have other xmas's and people will stop coming to see us at xmas. it's the cycle of xmas. we'll just enjoy it while we can.
had to use the heat pad when I got home from work, when I was walking risers my shoulder hurt so bad I was in tears. I blame powerwashing. it doesn't hurt when I do it, but it does hurt after I stop. my knee hurt too. guess I'm just getting old, but the hot pad fixed me all up. now about to consume some of my homemade chocolate pie with a generous helping of Cool Whip and find my spot on the dvd...had it paused so long dvd player shut itself off. I am easily distracted.....forgot my banana peel at bedtime last nite, so am a day behind on my all natural wart cure....

just found these pics of Katie's recent adventure.....her first Mizzou game! this gal has done some traveling!

whelp. christmas is over, back to the work week.

my heart is full.

we had all 3 kids and our grandson here for xmas, plus mom and my brother. it was amazing! soup was a low key lunch. Ian had fun playing with everything. I am so happy I got to see all of them today. we are so blessed.
I took KJ home. Kevin went to work. Koren, Ian, & Cody went on their xmas rounds. Kate left with Jard. so now I am all alone in a quiet house to shower, start laundry, and heat up left over chili.
