in loving memory...

a baby...

A baby will make love stronger, days shorter, nights longer, bank balance smaller, home happier, clothes dirty, the past forgotten, and the future worth living for!

Hey Arnold!

confession time: I thought it was a kilt! omg!

if you don't believe in miracles...

remembered to stop and buy pepsi on way home...forgot dog food. will HAVE to remember tomorrow...I hit the hay, Kevin made Manwich and fries for supper. watched Glee. 2 inquiries on the black pyrenees female that I have secretly named "Fuzzy Lumpkins" in case we dont' give her away...but they posted on the facebook posts instead of calling...and that was LAST NITE...
don't know if my stomach muscles will survive this week...12-in-a-row of manhandling the boarcart is getting harder and harder...

got called out at 12:57a.m. for high temp FW2. the phone woke kate & I up. she has been having trouble sleeping since the preview we saw at Paranormal Activity 3. she went with me and got a glimpse of her mom's world. got thru today. watched the end of dance practice. kate is not real happy with dance team. jennifer came over and adopted the last white male pyrenees puppy. and we got to hold baby hilary! set a date for A Very Merry Girl Scout Christmas, made a facebook event, and notes to mail. katie took a wee nap in the chair while I was thus occupied. emptied dishwasher, folded 2 baskets of laundry, put away katie's mountain of laundry at the end of the hall, and picked up the laundry off her floor.

worked yesterday, came home, fed dogs, threw on makeup and different clothes, Kevin had took the nite off, we went to Mom & Dad's for supper....Koren, Cody, Lisa, Tom, Max, Logan, Mom, Dad, me, Kevin, Katie, KJ, & John were there. KJ took Katie to pick up Vivian. they got lost. (we really don't go to Grandma's very much....)after some phone calls, Koren & Cody took them to Princeton to meet them at Casey's. The girls rented a scary movie since they couldn't go to all nite skate in Trenton. we stayed up till about 2:30a.m. visiting. worked Sunday. 2 more dogs were adopted today...down to 5! picked up cookies in Princeton. Koren & Cody here a while. when Katie got in the shower, I got called back to work...fw barn offline. arrrrgggghhhh. 2 1/2 hours of my life I'll never get back.

Grandpa Vermal's Prayer

Amen. Brother Ben. Shot a rooster and killed a hen.

I sure miss my grandpa!

right now...

picked up 5 more cases of GS cookies...got one batch handed out..watched our Weds. nite tv shows....all Thanksgiving editions...then got on the pumpkin pie. swept floors, cleaned off DR table. kevin put together xmas weiner dog and brought in chairs. the missing puppies came running home behind their mom when I got home from work. katie put a post on facebook that they are ready to be adopted, several people wish they could have one....no takers yet. they are sweet little things but will quickly grow up..
josh over hanging out with kj.

bubba home on thanksgiving break. kate's grade card arrived in mail:
math B-
JH life skills A
History A
Communication art C
study skills A
JH band A
Science B+
JH music A

kevin & I to hyvee for the rest of the stuff we needed for thanksgiving supper. didn't get the extra cookies picked up. maybe tomorrow...
on the way home from work katie called...pick her up from dance.
then our neighbor morgan called to see if we were missing puppies. told her I'd be there. then kevin called...
picked up katie, bre, and kayla. took bre home. stopped at store for work pepsi. went to morgan's where kayla found 1 puppy. they'd seen 3. came home and got food and their mommmy & went back to try to lure them out. afraid they're under their house...they are remodeling and adding on. couldn't find them. sophie is going nuts sniffing and running everywhere. never a dull moment with 11 puppies. one of the missing is little scared bronx who bays at everything. and a black sophie pup. kind of fond of the little farts.

you can easily judge...

a tear...

I come from a small town.....

I come from a small town in Missouri where everyone pulls over to let an ambulance or a funeral procession pass. We wave at each other in our cars. We don't have fire flies; we've got lightning bugs. " Y'all" is a proper noun and " aint " is definitely a word! Shoes ain't necessary and if we go outside we get dirty and we aint afraid of it! Chicken is fried & sweet tea is the house wine. Shopping carts are " buggies" & wash cloths are " wash rags." And, if you disrespect your Momma you're gonna seriously regret it. Re-post if you're proud you came from a small town in Missouri: and won't ever forget where you came from. Don't get above your raisin'

I am already tired of the Kay Jewelers Open Heart commercials....all these wonderful husbands giving their well-deserving wives beautiful jewelry...they make me all weepy eyed!
katie had dance practice after school. she also turned in the check to order our tickets for joplin game. kevin cut up his deer.

the mighty hunter

kevin got his 8 point buck today....they hung it, will cut it up tomorrow & see if it is nasty like the last one...
katie dropped her phone at the movies and it wouldn't turn on, she came home & put it on the charger and then it came back on???
btw, kate & bre are both Team Jacob. I will probably have nightmares about the c-section scene.

got home from Koren's about 2:30a.m. we all slept in, then had leftovers from Koren's. changed Katie's sheets, cleaned turtle tanks, made videos of Katie & Breanna singing along with YouTube. Kj back to college for one day of class, then Thanksgiving Break. Kevin got a small 8 point buck. took the girls to see Twilight Breaking Dawn-Part 1 at Trenton. one of the beagle pups was in the front yard with Sophie this morning. before long they will probably be a menace to the neighborhood! they are all eating dogfood & drinking water, need to figure out how old they are so if anyone wants to adopt one, we know when they can go.

Thanksgiving at Koren's

Koren & Cody hosted their first holiday dinner! amazing! they are food network fans, and the simmering, sauteing, chopping, and seasoning would make Martha Stuart, Julia Childs, and that Iron Chef guy proud! the new dining room table looked amazing with her matching dishes, glasses, and silverware. she is the hostess with the mostess!

bubba home for the weekend, kevin got a new agitator for washer & put it in, and bought new flannel sheets at Pamida. he went to chiropractor. kids to last JHBB game. I stayed home, dyed my hair...I thought it was going to be light golden blonde, but I bought light golden brown which of course ended up being red AGAIN. I give up. back to the beauty shop for me. spent my evening with breakfast burritos and ghostly shows. kj gave josh a ride 2 work.

my Chiefs fan

Hey, God, It's Me, Deb...

I don't have an amazing figure or a flat stomach, and I'm far from being considered a model...but I'm ME. I eat food. I drink Pepsi. I have curves in all the right AND all the wrong places. I love my sweats, and I go without makeup. I'm random and crazy at times, and I don't pretend to be someone I'm not. I nap in front of ghosts, bigfoot, aliens, and nature shows. I cry at the drop of a hat. I also YELL at the drop of a hat. (I'd avoid hats if I was you.) there isn't enough hair dye or time in the world to keep my hair non-gray. and don't even get me started on the wrinkles. I am who I am, you can love me or not.... I wont change! And if I love you, I do it with all my heart!

left work early to go to dr. and get my ear dewaxed...ran out of drops, my ear was popping and cracking, couldn't hear all day, and it hurt! well worth $25 co-pay!
bill nite. kate & I hung out and watched Toddlers & Tiaras and some prison show. hung out at glimmer girl practice & made snarky comments with Erin. she is fun!

copy & paste, baby!

11 rules

Bill Gates recently gave a speech at a High School about eleven (11) things they did not and will not learn in school. He talks about how feel-good, politically correct teachings created a generation of kids with no concept of reality and how this concept set them up for failure in the real world.
Rule 1 : Life is not fair - get used to it!
Rule 2 : The world doesn't care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.
Rule 3 : You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school. You won't be a vice-president with a car phone until you earn both.
Rule 4 : If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss
Rule 5 : Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your Grandparents had a different word for burger flipping: They called it opportunity.
Rule 6 : If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault, so don't whine about your mistakes, learn from them.
Rule 7 : Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were: So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parent's generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.. Rule 8 : Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life HAS NOT. In some schools, they have abolished failing grades and they'll give you as MANY TIMES as you want to get the right answer. *This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.
Rule 9 : Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you FIND YOURSELF. *Do that on your own time. Rule 10 : Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.
Rule 11 : Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one..

I took car to the garage for new brakes, then Kevin picked me up and took me to work. ended up the car didn't need new brakes, but got the tires rotated and a new daytime driving light, and the truck got new windshield wipers. changed KJ's sheets. Katie to JHBB games. I have to admit, I look forward to heading out back after work to do the chores and being attacked by furry adorable puppies. broke down and had to find my ear wax treatment at bedtime, couldn't take it anymore.
today Kevin found a brand new deer stand at his dads. he's going to take it down tomorrow. no one else has pemission to hunt in that spot. Lije had seen someone walking in the beanfield who didn't have permission to be there, they saw him & headed back to the road & left. Kevin did get a buck this weekend, he was cutting it up & it was rotten. he called game warden, he issued a new buck permit & told him he could keep the rack off the one he'd killed.
Katie has given up on Cash. she is not happy at dance practice, her punishment for missing so many practices was getting moved off the front row. yeah, she has missed some. today a HS girl left early to go to her dance studio. the JHBB girls always have a game or BB practice so never go. whatever.

don't text "& drive...

altho I do try to read texts and drive....not good. yes, the pot IS calling the kettle black. your mama.

todays afterwork activites included:
picking katie up from dance
then picking kayla up from bb practice
hanging out with jill while the girls decided who was staying where & decided to just go to their respective homes
visiting the avon lady
doing chores
stripping our bed & katie's which put me behind on laundry
have washer & dryer going right now, and the towel hamper and clothes hamper are full...
took a lengthy nap on couch.

if Katie....

misses any more school...manadatory Saturday school
if she misses one more dance practice....off the team.

"Cowgirl is an attitude, really. A pioneer spirit, a special American brand of courage. The cowgirl faces life head on, lives by her own lights, and makes no excuses. Cowgirls take stands. They speak up. They defend the things they hold dear. A cowgirl might be a rancher, or a barrel racer, or a bull rider, or an actress. But she's just as likely to be a checker at the local Winn Dixie, a full-time mother, a banker, an attorney, or an astronaut."
- Dale Evans Rogers, Los Angeles, 1992

Chiefs vs. Broncos

it was an amazing day....Katie rode the bus with FBLA to the game, we rode with Brandon & Jill, then met Koren & Cody. good seats, we lost but the pregame show alone is well worth the ticket price! we signed out Katie & Kayla, watched an aftergame show on the way to Longhorn Steakhouse to meet Koren & Cody.
